The tracker runs on your device and costs us nothing to run, so it is free. The one thing we would charge for is infrastructure a paid tier actually consumes. Never seats — Lab Sync is priced per lab, not per person, and only raises how many devices that lab can sync.

There is no username, password or session anywhere in the app, on either tier — pairing and sync run on a device certificate generated on your own machine. Buying Lab Sync creates a purchase receipt with our payment processor, the same as buying anything else online, and the license key is then tied to a device fingerprint. That is a receipt, not a login with us. No per-sample fees, no record caps, no implementation charge, and no advertising.
